Email login
You do not need a browser extension to trade. Signing in with an email address or a Google account gives you a wallet, and there is no seed phrase to write down.
The wallet is a real EVM address, created and held for you by Magic. Max Orion never holds the key, and the backend cannot tell an email wallet from MetaMask: it recovers a public key from a signature and has no idea where the private one is kept.
Signing in
- Click Connect, type your address, and press Continue.
- A six-digit confirmation code arrives by email. Type it into the six cells — it is checked the moment the sixth digit lands, so there is no button to press.
- That is the sign-in. Your wallet signs the login message itself, so unlike MetaMask no window opens asking you to approve anything.
Your agent is authorised at the same moment, also without a prompt, so you can trade as soon as you are signed in.
On the code step, Change email goes back to the address field and Resend code sends another one. A code is only good for the sign-in it was sent for.
The first time you sign in from a new device, Magic shows its own screen asking you to approve the login from your mailbox. That approval is a second, different email — it is not the six-digit code, and it only appears on a device Magic has not seen before.
Signing in with Google
Press the Google logo in the connect dialog. The page goes to Google, you choose an account, and you come back signed in. Your wallet signs the login message and authorises your agent itself, exactly as it does for an email code.
Your address
The same email address always unlocks the same wallet, so signing in from a phone and from a laptop puts you in the same account, with the same positions and the same balance. The same goes for a Google account.
That wallet is not the one in your MetaMask. An email or Google wallet is a different address, and so a different Max Orion account.
Your email address is not part of your trader record. It goes to Magic to prove you can read the mailbox; what reaches Max Orion is the signature and the address it was made with, the same as MetaMask sends.
Because the wallet is new, it starts empty. See Quickstart for depositing USDT and moving it into your perpetual wallet.
Signing out
Disconnect in the wallet menu ends the Magic session as well as signing out of this site, so the next sign-in asks for a code again. Closing the tab does not end it: Magic keeps its own session, which is why Disconnect exists rather than just reloading.
Either way, your agent stays authorised on this device, so signing back in does not create a new one.
When something goes wrong
| What you see | What to do |
|---|---|
| That code is not right | Check the digits. The newest email holds the code that works. |
| That code has expired | Press Resend code. |
| Too many wrong codes | Press Resend code to start over. |
| Too many attempts | Magic is throttling the address. Wait a moment and try again. |
| No email at all | Check spam, then Resend code, then Change email. |
| Couldn't reach their server from this network | Magic cannot be reached from your connection. Try another network, or connect a wallet instead. |
| Sign-in got stuck in your browser | Close the browser completely — on a phone, swipe it away from recent apps — then reopen the site and sign in again. |
If the connect dialog offers only MetaMask, that build of the site has no Magic key configured and email and Google login are switched off. Nothing you can do from the browser turns it on.
